Yesterday I talked about my problem with the recreation of Muppets vs. recreation of costumes. A number of people both on and off the web log pointed out to me that they could see a difference between the two. Replicating a costume is not replicating an actual character in full detail. You can make a Jack Sparrow costume but you can't recreate Johnny Depp where as you can recreate Kermit in full character even though you might not have the voice for it, like you could recreate Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny which most Art Shows do not let you display so that the wrath of those companies doth not fall upon them (although I have seen Marvin the Martin). So I feel much less conflicted.

Our house is clean which is nice. I find that when a room is clean, it "feels" better or at least I don't feel guilty when I look around it. I'll never have a Martha Steward home and I know that since that is not my style or that of my family but it is comfortable to us.

Lost my next thought due to a Caroline Potty Break. It is really nice that she is potty trained now. Honestly there were times I wondered if she ever would be but it all worked out in the end including her getting up to go at night so she is dry in the morning.

Today we are going to spend some time with Peter's brother Wally and his family which is nice because we see them so rarely. They are doing a vacation of visiting their relatives they haven't seen in a while. We spent some time last night catching up on stuff and plan to continue the visit today.

Tomorrow Peter is off to the convention. We plan to take the kids Saturday and Sunday. Should be interesting. I think I am going to take a Fluzzie along with me because you never know who you are going to run into and it is a great conversation piece. I need to dig up some business cards too. I could also update my portfolio with some of my current work.

I am grateful for a good swim

I just wanted to let you know what a good writer I think Peter is. I just recently started Fall of Knight, and I'm really enjoying it. I would have started it sooner; but I had a whole bunch of other things on my queue first, and honestly, I'm usually one to avoid fiction almost entirely - mostly because it takes me so long to get through books because of the narcolepsy, and there are so many I need to read that are non-fiction that fiction just doesn't rank very high for me.

All that being said, I'm having a lot of fun going through Peter's book, which is a big compliment coming from me. Usually I save my praise of fiction for the likes of Tolkien and old folktales/mythologies. Thanks again for sending it to us, and I'm wishing now that I'd started it sooner!

I'm so glad that you are enjoying it. The King Arthur books that Peter did are I think some of his best work.
