I just found out that after a long illness RAW has shuffled off this mortal coil and onto his next adventure.
Off to find my copy of the Illuminatus.....
I am grateful that I did get to interact with him at more than one convention.

Date: 2007-01-11 11:39 pm (UTC)However a I have read many of his books and he (along with Robert Shea, whom I new better) was a great writer of that kind of paranoid conspiratorial books that I love.
I was prepped for his books when I read Pynchon's The Crying of Lot 49 early in college. When the Illuminatus! trilogy came out in the middle 70s I devoured them. I enjoyed the "Historical Illuminatus" series that began with The Earth Will Shake.
He -- and his talent will be missed.
