Fever Free

I know there are a number of things that I need to catch up on. Things I want to comment on. But right now I am a very relived Mama Bear because Baby Bear aka Caroline is fever free and slept through the night in her own bed (OK Ariel’s bed because it is easier to check on her there). I checked on her several times during the night and each time there was no fever but a very soundly sleeping little girl.
So here is a bit of a catch-up on various things that have been or are happening.
NaNoWriMo is DOA right now. I think I will get back to it today but there is no way I am going to make up the word count that I have dropped and there are a few other things that are a little more important than writing right now. I do plan to get back to it soon. I think I want Peter to read over what I have done and make sure it doesn’t totally suck before I continue it. Another interesting writing opportunity has sort of fallen on our desk but it may not come to anything or be a really good stepping stone for me. I am thinking about it but taking a wait and see attitude.
To all the veterans who read this web log, thank you. Thank you for serving your country and putting yourself out there for the rest of us. I appreciate all that you have done for us. We may go to the local parade today and cheer on the marchers if it doesn’t rain and we can get clearance for Caroline to go.
Sesame Street turns 40. Google has had some really cute logos this week. You can find them at Google Logos. Today’s logo in the US is for Veterans Day. I’ll be doing a Sesame Street entry soon but I wanted to acknowledge the anniversary. But did you know that Asterix has been around for 50 years? And Wallace and Gromit for 20? Then there was the fall of the Berlin Wall. It has been a busy couple of remembrance days.
Today is probably going to be about the house and the stuff we have put on hold the past couple of days while Caroline was really sick. I have some other stuff I want to do but the household comes first. We also have to go to the pharmacy since our Doctor gave us a prescription for tamiflu for the adults since we have been exposed to the virus.
I am grateful to touch my daughter’s forehead and it feels normal.
