Peter and I went to see the Prestige yesterday. Our conclusion is that we liked it but we liked the Illusionist better. Acting was solid and it was nice to see Andy Serkis out of make-up and CGI again as well as David Bowie as Tesla which he did a fine job with. Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman were great fun. Peter said it was nice to see Jackman act well in something that didn't need him to wear claws (Peter didn't think much of Van Helsing). Michael Caine is an actor's actor who can do so much with so little to work with. I really can't say much about the script without giving something away except that it is a non-linear film which you do have to watch pretty carefully to keep all the pieces in their proper place. Not a film to be seen if you are feeling sleepy.

Caroline now wants to be a giraffe for Halloween. She also has declared that she wants to be a giraffe when she grows up. According to her Ariel is going to be a ballerina, Gwen is going to become Dora, and I am going to become a Monster. Daddy is remaining Daddy according to her. We asked her why she wanted to be a Giraffe and she told us because they have long necks and can see things way up high. Explaining why she can't be a giraffe is a little stymied right now but I think it is cute.

I think I am getting thick in my old age. I didn't figure out that Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who. The first episode I think aired this past weekend. It seems to be reviewed pretty positively. No clue if SciFi is going to pick it up or not.

No, I have not caught up on my e-mail. I have read through the blogs so I am caught up on comments.

I have two Boots costumes done and ready to go. They are both 2T since that seemed to be the size that most of the people who expressed interest wanted.

Next is my Halloween costumes for the family. Ariel and I are going to share a costume. I need it for bowling and she needs it to take her sister out for trick or treat.

I am grateful that I have figured out this week.

I still haven't seen, The Illusionist but really want to. Was The Prestige by the same director? I've not heard of it before.

Did you show Caroline the picture of the giraffe chair beside the pool in the photos I posted this morning? ;-)

Two different films that had the misfortune of being done about the same time. The Illusionist got pushed back a bit so it would not being coming out the same time as the prestige.

The Presitge had a bigger budget and a more known cast.

She loved the Giraffe and had to show it to her stuffed Giraffe.
