Got Bit

Spider bite I believe. If not something bit me that is disagreeing with my body. I have a bite site and a little bit a radiating but not a lot. I took Benadril before I went to bed. I had forgotten how weird the dreams can be on an antihistamine. So the night's sleep was not one of my better ones.

I have come to the conclusion that I am never entering my dolls into a formal doll show. I thought workmanship judging of my costumes was strict and stiff apparently that is nothing as compared to doll judges who will discount points for the weirdest things. Apparently the competition is pretty cutthroat too. The doll makers pour their hearts and souls into these dolls and when they are criticized it is a big blow to them. Those that don't win can be found sobbing in the corner wondering what they could have done or they read the judges' sheet telling them what was wrong with their doll(s). Doll making can be a very creative process or at least it has for me. Personally I know what I don't like about a particular doll that I have made. I really don't need others to point out all its flaws. Plus most of the stuff I make is not standard looking at all. Muchly is a good example of what I like to do.

Got some serious cleaning done yesterday but not much else. Wasn't from lack of trying more a lack of succeeding. Today I need to restock the larder and a few other small errands. Peter and I want to go see "Hollywoodland" today. I think I am going to give "The Black Dahlia" a miss. I want to see the next Jet Li film and there is one other that I can't quite remember that I want to see. Fall is a good time for movies.

I am grateful for my mother's pancake recipe.

Take care of that bite; they can get necrotic if they are certain types of spiders. And if it starts looking like a bullseye pattern, go IMMEDIATELY to your doctor/ER, as that would be a brown recluse bite and need fast treatment to keep your flesh from rotting off.

I saw Hollywoodland on Friday with Caran and Brad Linaweaver. We really liked the movie although it is very slow and artsy-fartsy -- so it is not for everyone. Excellent acting all around, including a surprisingly good performance from Ben Affleck.

George Reeves was my Superman. I think Chris Reeve was the better actor, but it is hard to forget those first impressions when you are 6 years old.
