OK whoever was listening when I said that our lawn could use some rain can stop for a little while now. I have a swamp in my front yard but it is looking greener or is that the mold? We have had two days of pretty solid rain which is probably good for the water table but I am feeling rather soggy.

3 done and 7 to go for the Doctors. Currently 2,3, and 6 are done. I want to get 1, 4, and 8 done today and shipped out then I am down to 5,7,9, and 10. There is another trip to the fabric store in my future (like later today) for some final touches that I need to do. So there is light at the end of the tunnel and I don't think it is the oncoming train.

We got back yesterday afternoon and watched the fashion show on E! for the Emmy Awards show. I thought Conan O'Brian did a very fine job as the MC and the opening sketch was hilarious. Highlight for me was Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert presenting the emmy for reality TV although the redo of Trouble was really funny too. And they got it done within the time limit so Bob Newhart wouldn't die. His reaction to the poll of if they should let him out or not was priceless. The man has reactions down to a fine art.

I am grateful that I am getting stuff done.

Is this the same opening sketch that there's so much controversy about? The one with the Lost spoof? I've heard it was hilarious but I haven't seen it. There's so much uproar over it!

that would be it. There is an up roar? About what? Hugh Laurie as House grabbing O'Brien's crotch? Jorge Garcia informing Conan that they (the cast of lost) wasn't invited which was funny and they did take some lovely potshots at the Academy's demented rules changes.

I guess the uproar has something to do with them doing the sketch on the same day as the Lexington plane crash.

Here's one of the articles about it if you want to check it out.

Ah. Now it makes more sense but still there was no way to get rid of it since the whole thing was already made before the show. An edit would have looked just too weird. And for crying out loud if they are doing a LOST riff then the crash of the plane is fundamental to the story. There is apparently other people who are decrying it because we are so close to the 5th anniversary of 9/11. Now 9/11 is a hot emotional button for me for various reasons but I didn't think of that or the Kentucky disaster. I thought of Snakes on a Plane and Ariel thought of LOST.
