Today is my sister's birthday. She is a woman of many talents including a reputation with in the Atlanta Poetry Scene for being able to come up with a verse on the fly.

I can remember when she told me that she was moving to Japan for a while to teach English. I thought she was kidding but realized she was serious. She went over there and did what she said she was going to do.

She is a fan of Duran Duran and has had to pull her driver license out more than once to show other Duranies that her last name is REALLY O'Shea. (Milo O'Shea played Duran Duran in Barbarella. No relation but we were introduced to each other when he was doing "Meet me in St. Louis" by a mutual friend who told us that we were tied for the most incorrigible punsters she had ever met.)

She has taken the lemons in her life and turned them into lemonade more than once and I admire her for that.

She was in my bridal party for my wedding. Peter said he will always remember her lower lip trembling as she read the reading at the ceremony. She has helped my brother throw a majority of his parties at various conventions.

I do remember holding her as a baby. She had a thick head of dark hair and could squinch up her face into some amazing looks. We were room-mates until we moved into the house my parents live in currently.

So Happy Birthday Sheila! I hope it is a good one for you.

I am grateful that Sheila is my sister.
