This is how it works: Comment on this entry and get a letter, if you want a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter, including an explanation of what the word means to you and why.

Vampry gave me the Letter G. So in no particular order except how they came into my head.

1) Grover-Lovable old furry Grover is probably one of my favorite Sesame Street Muppets. There is just something about his positive attitude that makes all things possible. Also anytime I say the Letter *something* I flash on Sesame Street.

2) Grass- I love the feeling of running through the grass and how it tickles my feet.

3) Groups- I belong to a number of them on the web and they reflect things I am interested in. Some are professional and some are just a bunch of people who like the same thing. I find this both fun and frustrating at the same time. So many groups and so many minutes in the day

4) Grin- I love my daughter's grin. There is something very impish about it. She knows more than she is telling.

5) Growth-Caroline has gone from a size 9 to a size 10 1/2 in less than 7 months. Her height is on the high end of the scale too. Which means people think she is older than she is. This can be a problem when behaviors are expected because of her height and not her age.

6) Griffins - I don't know why but I have always liked them. More than unicorns.

7) Grown Up- Funny thing is that I am in my 40s and I still wonder how I am getting away with convincing everyone that I am a grown up. I guess my inner child is very healthy.

8) Gorey- I really like his work. Right up there with Charles Addams. There is just something about the complexity and simplicity of his work that fascinates me.

9) Goblins - I am glad I didn't get "F" or 3 entries would have been the Frouds. Brian's Goblins are probably some of my favorite pieces of his work. There is something so playful about them. Also when I was at the Center for Puppetry Arts one of the puppets I took care of was Fishface the Goblin from the movie Labyrinth.

10) Goals - as in "it is good to have" not a sports score. I have goals both short term and long term. I set goals for myself all the time. Some I achieve and others are complete misses. I have always done this for as long as I can remember. I didn't know the word for it until I was older but the concept I had down from a pretty young age.

That was easier and more fun then I thought it would be.

I have a 17-month-old in 2Ts and some 3Ts, 95th percentile in height. We are already experiencing the higher expectations from strangers because of her size. It's frustrating.
