Happy Valentine's Day 2006

puppetmakerIt was nice and sunny yesterday. It was very much a contrast to the day before where we were beginning to wonder if the snowline was ever going to move up and out. I took Caroline outside to play in the snow which she enjoyed thoroughly.
Caroline's Snow Adventure
The costume is down to attaching the tail. I figure I'll do that this evening while I am watch TV. It looks pretty cool. I showed it to Peter this morning. He liked it but wanted to know when it was going to stop shedding. I have to give it a good brush and that should stop that. I'll have Peter take pictures.
Yes Peter is back from California and all is right with the world. He took the red eye back and arrived very early this morning. I was glad to see him. It is like a piece of the puzzle that is my life clicked back into place and the house felt better.
My love of panel cartoons tends to run to the macabre. Some of my favorite artists are Charles Addams, Edward Gorey, and Gaham Wilson. I loved the Charles Addams cartoons before I knew about the TV show. There was just something fun about the twisted way he looked at the world that I found amusing. I love to this day Edward Gorey's style. I think the first time I really picked up on his art was the opening credits to Mystery back when it first started. There was just something about it that appealed to me. I once was able to see an exhibit of his work and the original drawings are more impressive. I don't know the first Gaham Wilson cartoon I saw, I do remember it made me laugh and then shudder. Which I have a feeling is what he wanted to do. His art style like the others is very recognizable. Peter met him at WonderCon and got me some signed books with original drawings in them including a characture of himself. I think this is the best Valentine's Day Present ever. I also got a "Pirates of the Caribbean" snow globe that rocked my world too. He comes up with the coolest gifts. I got him a set of "Galaxy Quest" glass tumblers. These were done as a promo piece for the film and are very hard to find. So I think I made his day too.
Overall not a bad beginning to Valentine's Day.
I am grateful that my husband knows my tastes so well.
