Crafty Tuesday Let's start 2020
Jan. 7th, 2020 10:10 amAnd I am starting it by negotiating a puppet with a client.
I plan on having the flyers and business cards ready by Farpoint in February.
I am working on finding my market and that is a bit tricky. I have to figure out a number of things to get my puppets in front of those who want them. So far I have had some success with the website but would really like to make it a consistent success.
Then there are those rare times that I want to build a puppet for me. I have been a fan of Captain Harlock since TBS showed that mish-mash of Harlock and the Queen of a thousands years. In retrospect it was terrible but at the time I loved it. I have wanted to do a Harlock puppet for years but hesitated because I didn’t think my skill set was up for it.
Over the past couple of years and a whole lot of puppets I have learned things that make me confident that I can build this puppet.
I am also working on a new type of puppet with a lower price point than the bigger ones. It is quick to build and I think people would like it. The R & D is taking a while as I work out the geometry of the beastie. I want it to fit both an adult hand and a child’s hand.
Also I need to build some more Phluzzies.
So that is where I am starting. Let’s see where I go.
I am grateful for geometry even when it can be a pain.
