RTBTCKI Meh
Jun. 24th, 2016 08:35 amThe other day Caroline was asked her opinion of something and she replied, “Meh.” I asked her if she knew where that word/sound had come from. She shrugged and I informed her that it was first used in the Simpsons episode entitled Sideshow Bob Roberts back in 1994 so it has over twenty years of use. I think that the Internet kept the word/sound going.
We had two adjustors come by and take notes and make notes and everything else so now we wait and see what happened next with the mold in the house.
The Braves have the Mets number and last night was a fine example of that.
The NBA draft was last night and the sports pundits had plenty to say about the matter. Lot of small forwards going in the first round. Nothing that leaps out at me as the greatest pick/trade ever. Kind of lackluster over all.
We have been playing a lot of Clue(do) recently. Versions we have are Classic, Big Band Theory, Dr. Who, and Sherlock. The dice seem to be determining who wins because we are good as sussing out the who and the what but the where takes sometime to get to. Hasbro has done a good job of marketing this game to fandom.
Today I am having lunch with an old friend. It should be a nice get together.
CBS and Paramount did what I have been expecting for a while now. They said what a fan film could be and not find their lawyers knocking on the door. The restrictions are many and I know a number of people who aren’t happy with this outcome. You can read the new rules here. The limitations on budget and personal seems a little over the top to me and how any moneys can be raised because they are taking away the ability of the filmmakers to make it interesting for the participants by removing incentives.
After burning my right index finger with a hot pan due to tremors, working out at the gym was an adventure as I could not, even with my gloves on, get a good grip on some of the things I do. I did what I could and was glad that my back did not issue any objections.
Rereading my way through the original short stories of Sherlock Holmes. Going to read the longer ones after I finish this round.
I am grateful for our ever changing language.
