And Home Again

We had a nice visit with my in-laws including my brother Wally who was up for a visit. Some things were sorted out and other things were worked out so good visit all the way around.

Getting up there was a bit of an adventure. Monday into Tuesday getting anywhere was an adventure. We carefully pick our way back to our lodgings through the snow covered streets with a light sheet of sleet. The next morning there was about an inch and a half of solid ice on all surfaces. Walking outside was an adventure. Extracting the car was an adventure. The advantage was that it got above freezing which allowed for easier ice removal. By the time we got on the road itself, things were pretty much clear. By the time we got into our area, the rain had removed most of the impediments to our travel.

We got home and unpacked the car dodging the rain drops. I got Caroline to her Girl Scout field trip.

Today is cleaning up from the trip. Caroline is home from school this week so we have some activities planned.

I am grateful for roads that allowed us to get home safely.
