Crafty Tuesday Going off the Deep End
Jan. 12th, 2016 10:09 amYesterday online it was hard not to see people talking about David Bowie. It reminded me a bit about what happened when Jim Henson died but without the internet component since it didn’t really exist yet.
Some where on Twitter someone wrote the following Today, in honour of David Bowie, please take a little time to work on that weird thing you secretly create, whatever it is. He'd want you to.
Later that evening we had the moment of Zen on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah in which is it Mr. Bowie talking about taking a risk creatively. He talked about going out to where your feet don’t quite touch the bottom and you don’t feel secure and then you are almost where you need to be.
I am going to take that to heart and this year I am going to try some things I have thought about doing creatively that I have pulled myself short on for whatever reason whether it be I don’t think I have the skill set or the right tools or the knowledge to pull what I want to do off.
What I do have is resources and friends who can give me help and the knowledge to do what I want to do.
Sure there are going to be other things I need to do but I am going to take some time for me and my creative journey which I really don’t think I have consciously done in a couple of years. Accidently yes I have but not on purpose.
Sink or swim at least it will be magnificent either way.
I encourage you to do the same. Let’s create.
I am grateful for this metaphoric kick in the pants that has gotten me to thinking about my creativitiy.
