Crafty Tuesday Priming the Pump
Nov. 25th, 2014 07:59 amSo this year I thought I would start working on Dragon Con for next year.
To do so I need to start figuring out what I am going to build and how.
This is my thinking period where I work through my head all the ways I can make something from the absurd to the mundane. No idea is a bad one just not feasible or would make the puppet too expensive. And really who needs Swarovski crystals on a puppet’s dress?
I have sets of puppets that I have worked out in my head. They are a little different than my usual fair but could be an interesting item for the right fan. Again could get a little pricey.
I do try to put my puppets in the realm of the possible price wise but I can not sell my work short. I learned that one rather early on in my career.
A while back I tried to make what seemed to be popular in fandom but the puppets didn’t sing to me the way that they do when it is something I am interested in.
For the puppetslam I am honestly looking at Superwholock. I have all but five puppets I can use for it. The sketch is working its way into my brain. And I do want to build a Mycroft for reasons that surpasseth all understanding. I also want to get my crew needs down this year since I am losing a couple of folks due to life and such.
I will probably have some of this done for Farpoint. And I will start there and go forward.
Right now my creative brain is working through Caroline’s Birthday Party in less than two weeks but the puppets still percolate in the background.
I am grateful for sensible shoes.
