Plague Post
Nov. 10th, 2009 10:26 amYesterday was a long day even though it was still 24 hours. Caroline’s fever kept spiking even with counter measures. I made an appointment with her Doctor for 4 pm but by Noon she was 104 and we were afraid it would keep climbing. So Peter took her to the Doctor. They did some tests and came back with those words that parents don’t want to hear this flu season, H1N1. She is now on tamiflu and a regiment of meds to keep the fever down and make her comfortable. This morning she is showing signs of being back to her old self. We have to see how she is doing tomorrow to determine if she is going to school on Thursday. Like I said, a very long day. Peter stayed up with her all night and I took over this morning to let him get some sleep.
I didn’t get anything done about just about anything else including the novel writing. I just couldn’t get my head into the game because I was so worried about Caroline. Peter went on to write the next two issues of X-Factor so it is easy to tell who the professional writer is in the house. The man is a writing machine.
It is nice to know what is wrong with our little girl but at the same time it is kind of scary. I know she will get better but we have to keep an eye on her to make sure that the fever doesn’t get too high.
I am grateful that we have been able to keep her temperature down.
