I have heard that the Jets are like the Mets are like the Cubs. They get your hopes up and then, in spectacular fashion, dash them to the ground yet again. And they did that yesterday in spades. They had a chance. Heck they had a number of chances to pull ahead or at least even in that game and they just couldn't get it done. One catch could have changed the entire face of that game. But the Jets are 9 and 6 which is better than any odds maker gave them at the beginning of the season. I have heard the cry that it ain't over yet along with all the things that could happen that might let the Jets into the play offs. They are playing the Dolphins who look rather determined at this point. The Pats are playing the Bills who seem to have lost the will to win. I will be amazed if anything goes in the Jets favor next week.

Onto the Giants who should not have that bye in the playoffs. That was sloppy play on both the defense and the offense. And I know that they came back from a deficit and went on to win on OT but they shouldn't have been in that position. I will say that this game pointed out to me, again, that you can't count the Giants out at the half. Some how they found a way to do it.

Then there are the Falcons. They really proved themselves this year and surprised a lot of people in the league. Early on they were written off as a team that was rebuilding. Apparently they did this during their bye week because since then, they have been pretty doggone good. Sorry Bucs fans, I know you thought it was your year but a strong start does not guarantee a strong finish.

There were a number of teams this year that did more than what they were suppose to do and a bunch that just couldn't get it together. There are also quite a few games that mean something next week. Divisions have stayed tight and a single win can propel a number of teams into the playoffs or back home to watch in the TV with a lot of what if's in their heads.

I am grateful that there are games worth watching next week.
