DragonCon 2008 Friday
Aug. 30th, 2008 10:11 amConsidering the size of this convention, I am very comfortable here. I have run into people who I use to see more than once a year and now only see them at DragonCon. I got to hang out with 2 out of 3 of my siblings. I get to talk to neat people. And I get lots of hugs.
My panels went well. Judging the workmanship contest was interesting. There were a lot of really good costumes and there was a lot of work put in them. The audience award went to a set of Winkie costumes with a really good Wicked Witch. The best in show went to an incredible Death as Hogfather. The eyes glowed on stage. The guy did a fantastic job with it. We had a bunch of novice costume makers who had the chops to compete on a higher level. I expect to see more from them in the future.
For some strange reason my left foot is bothering me. That is the one that I broke when I fell off the scaffolding over 20 years ago. I am not walking as briskly as I usually do. So I am taking it a little easy.
Today is my puppet panel for the Art Show. I am doing a practical demo on puppet building. I have to just sort out my photos for part of it. I do hope I have something to draw on. I have two panels with the same title of "page to screen" for both the Young Adult (at 7:00) and the Writing Track (at 10). After that I plan to spend sometime hanging out with my brother and my buddies.
I am grateful that Caroline is having such a good time with her grandparents.
