Vacation Day 4 and 5 (and most of 6 too)
Jul. 26th, 2007 04:40 pmDay 4
We woke up still not knowing if we could stay in the room we were occupying or if we would have to move all our stuff. Peter started calling at 8:00 to see what the story was. Not looking good was the reply so I spent the morning packing up all our stuff in anticipation of a move. Then we got the Disney miracle we needed and were told that we could stay in the rooms we were in.
Off to Disney MGM we went to join up with another of our friends. The one thing Ariel wanted to ride was the Tower of Terror. The one thing I wanted to do was go and see Muppets in 3-D. The one thing that Caroline wanted to do was stay in the hotel room but once she found out there was a Little Mermaid Show she was ready to go. On our way in we saw that there was no Fast Pass for ToT (Tower of Terror) which meant you had to go stand in line. While checking the times board Ariel noticed that over the length of the wait for ToT was a sign that said "Guess the Wait Time". She guessed 1/2 an hour which was wrong. Peter guessed 57 minutes but they said it had to be in 5 minute increments so he rounded up to 60 minutes and won 3 fast passes to ToT.
After seeing the Little Mermaid show, mostly through her fingers, Caroline and I set off for other parts of the park while Peter and company went to get dropped a couple of dozen times. Caroline got to hug Sulley on his way back from a character greeting which she enjoyed. We then went to lunch at one of our favorite Disney restaurants the Prime Time Cafe. Ariel and I went off for Muppets 3-D and Peter dealt with the increasingly cranky Caroline.
They need to refurbish the Muppets 3-D or at least fix the animatronics puppets that they are using. Statler and Waldorf were not doing well at all. The mouth movement on one was way off from the dialogue and the other was not talking at all. Bean needs a couple of fixes too. Whoever was doing Sweetums knew how to operate the puppet very well so that looked great. We found Peter and Caroline outside the Sci-Fi Drive-in with Caroline playing in the blue car happy as she had been all day. We had to remove her so some people could take pictures of their kids in the car and she threw a fit which told us that it was time to go back to the hotel.
Ariel and I went back to Magic Kingdom and finally got to ride Buzz Lightyear and for the first time I scored better than she did. We joined up with a friend and watched the parade which I taped for Peter. We came back to find Caroline asleep after playing with Daddy most of the evening.
Peter and I set out for our last visit to the Adventurers Club for this stay and said good-bye to a bunch of our friends
Day 5
Started early as Peter had to be out the door by 5:15 to get picked up to go to the airport. I fell back to sleep for a bit but kept waking up. Caroline and Ariel slept until about 9:00. I finished packing us up, loaded the car, and we set off for St. Augustine to spend some time with my parents. We arrived in record time for us (without speeding) and since then have been relaxing at the beach and the pool and taking naps. It has been a wonderful vacation so far.
Here is our current schedule

I am grateful to Melissa and Rubin who made it possible for us to stay in our rooms.
