We did get some snow last night but with the rain coming down, I don't think it is going to last that long. Sleet and freezing rain seem to be falling off and on this morning. At some point I am going to have to go get the shovel and clean off the front walk and our porch so that the mail carrier will deliver to our door and so that we are in compliance with local ordinances.
Today is going to be a recovery day from the past two weekends. My brain feels a little fuzzy on the inside and needs some time to recover. Also I have a bunch of e-mail I have to catch up on from my various accounts to get myself current again. I have bowling tonight and I am hoping that the ankle I turned during the convention is back to normal by this evening. Got a dolly thing to finish up too.
Sunday at NYCC was a lot like Saturday in many ways. I caught up with people I hadn't seen in a while. Caroline fell asleep in her stroller while being wheeled around. Ariel made out like a bandit for all the free stuff that people were handing out. I swear you could make your entrance fee back in swag at this convention. Caroline then hung out in the green room for a while.
In her continuing path to adulthood, we had another milestone at the convention. Caroline was drawing at her father's table while I dealt with some other stuff. She was doing both her abstract and less abstract work and she sold a drawing for $2.00. Yes, she earned her first dollar, which she is quite proud of.
We did watch the Oscars last night. I though the logo creating with the human body was pretty cool but over all the show didn't grab me. I thought Ellen did fine given the restrictions she had to work with and she kept the jokes within the room rather than using the greater topical world for her palette. I think the funniest was the speech before Sound editing comparing it to sex in a number of amusing ways. Most of the presenters seemed to be people from the popular public consciousness rather than actors who have won Oscars which is who use to present them. So I made it through but other than those couple of things, nothing really stood out to me. The gowns were very tasteful and conservative this year to my mind.
I am grateful that Caroline had so much fun at the convention.
