Still on Vacation
Jul. 24th, 2006 12:05 pmPeter and Ariel closed out ComicCon and drove up to LA for some business and to see the redone “Pirates of the Carribean” at Disneyland. Ariel is disappointed that there is no Orlando Bloom figure in the ride. I will see them tomorrow.
Meanwhile Caroline and I are having fun on the beach, in the surf and in the pool. She loves playing in the surf and her good sense of balance has helped her keep her footing more than once. My brother Sean made a sand turtle while Caroline made sort of a dribble wall. I got my exercise following Caroline down to the Ocean and back to the dribble castle with buckets of water to moisten the sand. It is a relaxing time and I am enjoying it.
Vacation to me is a time to reflect and renew. I don’t consider conventions as vacations since I tend to have to be “on” for most of the time. This time, so far, has given me a chance to just sit with my thoughts and sort them out so the cacophony in my head is not as loud or as shrill and I can really focus on what I need to do next when I get back home. Less input sometimes can be a good thing especially to sort of the input I already have in there.
I am grateful that I do have this time for quiet reflection.
