Well this is the end of the first season of the New Who Review and Eccleston's Doctor in one swell foop. I still got a bit teary at the end. A lot of the threads that had been running through the season were tied up into a pretty neat little package with a bow on top. Solid performances by all I think. I liked Rose having to deal with things that she didn't want to deal with or be forced to find another way. I will miss Mr. Eccleston's Doctor but I am glad that he added his take on our favorite Time Lord. Someone (I think it was Terry O) described this Doctor as having post-traumatic Stress Disorder. I don't think they are far off considering what this Doctor when through before meeting up with Rose.

Now a question for the Doctor Who fans. Do all the Doctors have blue eyes? Or have we a brown eyed one finally? I believe that Paul McGann's are green. (I won't even go into the color of his jacket.)

Spoilers of course behind the cut and in the comments.

I am grateful to everyone who got Doctor Who back on the air.

Peter and I went and saw "A Prairie Home Companion: the Movie" yesterday. What a delightful movie over all. Altman has again pulled some very solid performances from some great actors. The banter between Lilly Tomlin and Meryl Streep is worth the price of admission. But wait there is more! You also get Garrison Keeler as GK. Lindsey Lohan plays the angsty daughter of Meryl Streep. Woody Harrelson and John C. Reily as a set of trail weary cowboys with probably the funniest song in the entire film. Then there is Kevin Kline as Guy Noir where he proves who REALLY should have played the lead in the latest Pink Panther film. The capper is Virginia Madsen who is billed as "Dangerous Woman". We also get the Radio show regulars on screen doing what they do best.

I went into the film having heard "Prairie Home Companion" on the radio on Saturday nights for years. Peter knew the basics and who Garrison Keeler was. Didn't really matter if you were familiar with the material or not. There were in-jokes that were for the radio audience but there is enough there for you to sort out who is who if you don't know. It is worth the current price of admission especially if you are a fan of the radio program or Robert Altman's body of work.

I am grateful I saw this on a large Screen because there is a lot going on in the corners.

Remember a while back I lamented that I didn't have any pictures from my Vincent costume? Well my good friend MAB hooked me up with three images that she had of it. I compressed one into my Icon but plan to post the others on my website soon.
