House Called
May. 24th, 2006 08:28 amAbout half way through watching House last night I knew the ending of the episode. For some strange reason I really feel that I had seen this episode before even though this was first run television. I will say that I am on board for the next season. Tonight we have the final for LOST which is in conflict with the final for American Idol. We are going to tape LOST since Peter and I are off to the city for a screener of X-Men 3. I have a feeling that Ariel is going to bop between the two until Idol is over. Be interesting to see what the final tally of votes is going to be since the phone lines were open for four hours. I love that every year we get this "controversy" about how the phone vote works and there are always these lovely Internet rumors of vote fixing and that not all the votes are really counted. I am waiting for the American Idol vote scandal to break or at least to hear some newscaster say, "Does your vote really count on American Idol? Find out at 11:00." You tune in at 11 and about 11:25 after a lot of build up you find out that the answer is yes. Sweeps brings out the best and worst of TV all in one month.
Weather is nice today. I might even get a bit of the large project I want to get done finished today. I figure at an hour or two a day I might get it done within the next two weeks which will be good. It is just carving out the time from the other stuff that needs to be done around here. We are not going anywhere this weekend which will be nice. It can get crazy trying to travel Memorial Day Weekend since that is the beginning of the summer season for the Hamptons and Fire Island. This craziness continues until Labor Day when most people's schedules go back to normal. Many businesses in New York City let their employees out around noon on Friday during the summer so that they can have a longer weekend. This is a holdover from when the kids and Mom went out to the summer house during the summer and Dad commuted to work during the week from the house/apartment and spent the weekends on the shore with his family.
I am grateful for Peter's short commute.
