In which is lot is done in a little time. I got up at 7 with Miss Caroline and let Ariel and Peter sleep until 8. We ordered breakfast that eventually was comped since they took an hour and half. Ariel got her autograph from Michael Lewis who parents are as sweet and wonderful as he is. I talked to a couple people I know from Farpoint and Shoreleave.

I took Caroline outside and let her run around this great rooftop garden they have. She had lots of fun and burned much Caroline energy. Peter and Ariel agreed to take Caroline duty so I could go have an adult lunch with Peter's Sister Beth and her husband Randi. Naturally we ended up talking about the kids.

I came back and Caroline had made a new friend in a little girl named Samantha. The two of them played for most of the rest of the day. Ariel and Samatha's mom took childcare duty on up in our room so the kids were confined but still had things to play with.

I went to hear Peter's talk. After that we went and got our copy of "Shekhina" signed by the photographer Leonard Nimoy. That introduction completes my original Trek Cast member handshakes. The only hand I never shook was Deforest Kelly and that was because I didn't go to a Dixie Trek one year because I was in the middle of a show from heck and had no free time. Still not a bad record to have.

Peter and I went to the banquet without Ariel and Caroline because Caroline conked out about 6:30 and showed no signs of waking up at that point. Peter did a reading of his poem "The Cad in the Hat." Richard Hatch joined him on stage for a dramatic reading of "Green Eggs and Crack." Sylvester McCoy played the spoons. That is such an understatement. Unless you have seen him perform, you really don't understand why it is such a big deal. It is really too bad Vaudeville doesn't exist anymore. He would have been a star. Mira Furlan read some of her son's and her favorite Shel Silverstein poems. She has such a rich voice. At that point we had to book because Peter drove Ariel back to Queens for the funeral today.

Peter got back here about 6:00 AM and grabbed a couple hours of sleep. I am probably going to do the drive to the ferry so Peter can take a nap in the car. This morning he got up for a 9 AM breakfast and then proceeded to his table to sign autographs and talk to fans. Richard Hatch is set up next to him and the two of them are chatting about a million and three different subjects between signing stuff. I brought Caroline upstairs for some chill out time and sat down to write this entry.

I am grateful that Peter made it back to the convention safely.
