Fallen Angel is Back!
Aug. 18th, 2005 08:47 amFor the first time since Spring I have the windows open this morning to let some air into the house. It is 65 degrees and there is a nice breeze coming up from the water giving a slight salt tang to the air. Very comfortable. The grass and trees are perking up from the rain we have had earlier this week and the crabgrass has made its presence known by starting to take over the lawn. It is amazing how much a few degrees in temperature, a little breeze, and low humidity can change how one feels about being outside.
Two weeks until we leave for DragonCon. That is a little sooner than I was expecting. For some reason I thought I still had 3 weeks before the convention begins. Just means I have to crank it up a bit to get stuff done. My goal is one more mask and 3 more puppets. If I am very lucky one more doll will be completed. I do have the doll I am going to use for the fantasy doll challenge at the convention so no pressure there.
I cleaned half the living room and hope to get to the other half today but I am not holding my breath. There are a number of errands and things we need to do today which will probably take up any and all available time but that is to be expected. As it stands, I would like to tackle the leaning tower of paper before the cats knock it over.
I am thinking that this is an allergy rather than a cold and have taken steps to get myself back to normal. Ariel is have a heck of a time with her post nasal drip so I am giving her allergy medicine to see if it clears up. I do know she was coughing a lot less last night than she had been.
Caroline has been practicing her drawing. She is consciously working on getting better control of her ability to create lines and circles. She will have me draw something for her while she watches. She will have me do it a couple of times and then she will take the pad and try to recreate what I did. Currently we are working on drawing teddy bears.
Peter finished his book on writing comics and is now working on getting the permissions to use the images that he wants. Getting permissions can be the biggest pain in the rump when doing a non-fiction book. So far, with one exception, it is going fairly quickly and painlessly. Also the September issue of Wizard is doing an article on Peter’s work in comics. The number of interviews he has been doing has gone up since it was announced he was writing Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman. Next I believe is the King Arthur Novel along with his comic book projects. He started writing the next Fallen Angel yesterday. He said it was exciting to be writing that comic again. I have read the first couple of pages and it is going to rock.
I am grateful that Peter can continue the adventures of Bete Noire.
