We had breakfast with the Greenbergers at the local IHoP. Caroline got to sit with the big kids and for the most part behaved herself. She is growing up so fast. We went back to the hotel and loaded up the car then started for home. Overall the trip was pretty fast. We only ran into a couple of traffic back-ups. One of which we went completely around quickly because we were in the HOV lane. We unpacked the rental and Peter returned it. I picked him up from the car rental lot and we started on our way home.
The car in front of me came to an abrupt stop because the idiot in front of him all of the sudden was making a right turn from the middle lane. I managed to stop in time as did the gentleman in the jeep behind me and the two cars behind him. The fifth car didn’t stop and caused a chain reaction behind us. I managed to keep from hitting the car in front of me. The 3rd car in the impact peeled out and drove off. The car that started it all in front of me also ran off. The jeep owner and I got off light. We are getting the alignment in the car checked but we have no visible damage to the car. Caroline is fine and we are fine. The fifth car was brand new. The owner had just gotten it and the front end was pretty smushed. The fourth car’s airbags deployed and the owner was rather shaken up. She was off to pick up her son from camp. The third car had damage but no one knows how badly since they got out of there really quickly. So we left our information with the police and came on home to go bowl in our league.
We were going to let our average stand for next week because of ComicCon and a few other things we have going on when it was pointed out to us that we are in first place. We didn’t know that but we know that going into next week we are still in first place because we won all our points last night. So we are going to try to find a way to pre-bowl for next week’s games.
I am going to try to get the pictures up today. No promises but I will try. Today is the first class of Caroline’s summer Mommy and Me class. I have that and a number of other things I need to get done so it will be a busy day.
I am very grateful that we got out of the accident with just a headsnap.
