We had a good Sunday marred only by the news of the death of Byron Priess who many of the authors and editors here knew in one capacity or another. Byron was a pioneer in the field of electronic books and print on demand publishing, He saw the potential in the medium a long time before the rest of publishing. He is survived by his wife, Sandi Mendelson, and two daughters, Karah and Blaire. My thoughts and prayers go to his family and friends. I met him a couple of time in my professional capacity but I know a lot of people who knew and worked with him. It is a loss to the publishing community and the science fiction community.

That was the down. The up was a very relaxing Sunday where we all got sometime to do what we wanted to do including Caroline who went swimming to as long as we would allow her. I had time to clean up from the Costume Contest the night before and sometime to myself. We went to the Dead Dog party and had a very nice time talking with the con staff and committee. Ariel and Danicah rounded up their con buddies and had the now annual Sunday Night Teen Poker Night. Peter and I were able to spend sometime talking to our friends the Greenburgers which was very nice. Danny Strong joined us and we ended up talking later than I think any of us expected to. Caroline didn’t fall asleep until really late so I am hoping she doesn’t wake up before 8 because I can use the time to finish up the packing. We are having breakfast with the Greenburgers and then drive back home having had a good convention over all.

I am grateful at the people I met and get to know at Shoreleave over the years
