The past two days have been busy ones. Dental surgery was part 1 of 3 or 4 depending on how things go. I do have a whole tooth to chew with again. The fight with the insurance company was another rant all together.

The Great Small Works 7th annual International Toy Theater Festival and temporary Toy Theater Museum was a lot of fun. I had a great time catching up with some people and meeting others. The nice thing is that the program is set up that if one form of puppetry (say abstract) is not quite your cup of tea then another will be. I don’t think you can say there is something for everyone very often and mean it but they can. It is running through the 19th of this month. When walking around the exhibit I saw a piece that I knew was a Janie Geiser piece. I didn’t even need to look at the card. Her puppets have a very distinctive look about them. Marsian from my puppetry class was the one who told me about it. He has a piece in the museum which is very interesting but hard to describe. I am glad that I went.

Saturday we went to visit my sister-in-law Beth, her husband Rande, and their two daughters Sarah and Emily. It was Sarah’s 4th birthday party and a fun time was had by all but especially the little ones. Sarah, much to her amazement, got a visit from Princess Aurora who read her a story and had dinner with her. Beth did a great job with the party by keeping the kids amused along with the adults.

Princess Aurora fascinated Caroline. Caroline at first seemed a little unsure about the whole things but as time when on she kept circling closer and closer to the Princess until she wanted to be picked up by her. Caroline and her cousins are a bit of a contrast. Sarah is into Disney Princesses. Caroline is into Dora and Pixar films. Emily follows her big sister’s lead for the most part.

Today we have a number of options including a boat show, a crafts fair and a couple of movies we really want to see. The day got off to a bit of a later start than we wanted but with all the travel yesterday we aren’t going to be too unhappy with ourselves.

I am grateful that I got to see the Toy Theater Festival.
