It is interesting that several studies recently published are all saying the same thing. Slow Down! Stop and smell the roses and you will live longer and be happier. I have written about the study that looked at multitasking and how it does and doesn’t work. Now there is another study out about slowing down and living longer. Apparently taking some time for yourself is no longer selfish but healthy. Doing something that takes time and focus is good for the brain in the short term and the long term.

This dovetails into some other things I have been reading on various subjects. So doing one thing at a time and completing it is not a bad thing now. Taking time to relax no longer makes you a bad person or a slacker in fact it helps you to be a better person. Not getting everything done on your list in one day does not make you lazy. The new mantra seems to be pace yourself. Which is fine by me.

This weekend I finished cleaning the living room, cut out my doll, and got some stuff done on my website. I posted the pictures from December and January in the life of Caroline. You can find them at

Today I plan to finish my application to the DragonCon Art Show and sewing my doll along with food shopping and a few other errands. If I don’t get it all done I am not going to beat myself up today. Tomorrow I will continue working on the costumes for FarPoint and see if I can get that done in a reasonable amount of time (like before the convention).

I am grateful for the time to slow down a bit.
