Seeing Red

We have been going back and forth on what Caroline should wear for Halloween. We though may be a young Hobbit or may be her Stitch outfit still fit or dress her up as Spiderman. I went to the fabric store to see what I could find and came across a pattern that will allow me to make her a Boots the Monkey costume from Dora the Explorer. She really likes Dora and Boots. She has a stuffed Dora that is only a little smaller than she is. I can make her a warm costume that she can move in so I am happy. On the list of things 10 years ago I thought I would be doing in 10 years, making a costume for my daughter was not on it. But it is on it now and I am happy.

Cardinals pulled it out so the political implications are gone which I think is better for the World Series. It just seems like an awful lot of red on the field. Other people wanted to Astros just to see what would happen with Clemens and the Soxs. I think the best two teams currently fought their way in to the series. I am looking forward to the fall final match-up of the Baseball season. If the Soxs win they have broken the curse but I think have also lost something. The Cubs then become the team that has the cuddly never won sticker in the last two centuries sticker.

I just love people on the Internet or in real life that make claims to make themselves look more important. This problem is compounding for employers in resumes that make claims of jobs not done and degrees not earned. Do these yabos even think that their potential employer might check up on the “facts’ as presented? Do these Internet individuals even stop to think that others might check up on their posts? I use to run into this all the time when I was stage-managing. Actors would pad their resumes with roles they had not done. The problem showed up when they happen to hand the resume to a director who directed the show they were claiming to be in. I can remember a notice going out from the SMA about stage managers padding their resumes with shows they had observed under SMA but hadn’t called. There are ways to check these things and people who are caught in a coloring of the truth shouldn’t be that surprised or hurt or offended. There are days I love the Internet but don’t think much of its citizens.

I am grateful for Polar Fleece which has made both costuming and puppet making so much easier.
