Angels move on

So for the second time the Angels have sent the Yankees home to watch their TVs for the rest of the series. I think the deciding play was all the way back in the 2nd inning when Gary Sheffield and Bubba Crosby crashed into each other in the outfield allowing 2 runs to score. After that all the momentum was behind the Angels. It was theirs to lose. So tonight it is the Angels vs. the White Soxs. Soxs have a lot of momentum getting to this point sort of like the Red Soxs had last year. The Cardinals are playing really good ball this year so I am going to say White Soxs vs. Cardinals with the Soxs taking it in 6.
We took Caroline to see "Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit." She sat through about 3/4 of it before deciding that she had enough sitting for one day. I took her to the lobby while Peter and Ariel finished watching the movie and the credits. I recommend staying through the credits on this one. There is a funny pay-off. Overall she was engaged with the film. She laughed at the funny stuff or what was funny to her. Apparently bow-ties are funny especially with polkadots.
There accusations of government corruption and pay-offs in the building of schools in Pakistan. Apparently the private schools were still standing after the earthquake but the public schools had fallen. This is not a new problem in the area where graft is a part of every day life. However in this case it cost children their lives because of shoddy building materials and cutting of corners which allowed the government officials and the building contractors to line their pockets with money. I am going to be watching this story closely in the European papers since I have a feeling that it is not going to be covered very extensively in the American papers. Recently I have found myself reading more World news from the country of origin if they have an English language newspaper. Gives one a different perspective on things.
My cold is better and I am on the mend as is Caroline. We both have our coughing fits and sniffles but I don't feel like I am walking through permanent brain fog. Caroline is acting more like her usual self and wanting to run and play rather than sit quietly. Part of it I think is that I have been able to get plenty of rest and take care of myself without external pressures to do things. Mommy and Me is not happening due to the coughing and the sneezing and the fact that Caroline is still asleep. By the time she wakes up, gets up, eats breakfast, and is ready to go the class will probably be over.
Today is a rainy wet day made for a strong cup of tea and a good book. There is a chill in the air along with the damp. We do need the rain but we seems to be getting it all at once. Not as bad as they did in the Gulf but parts of New York and New Jersey are flooded due to torrential downpours that are dumping 4 to 9 inches in a very short time. At least the lawn is looking much better.
I am grateful for things that help me get better faster.
