OK. I am now officially caught up on e-mail. It took longer than I thought it was going to take. Some of the costuming groups had some really interesting threads I wanted to read. Next up are pictures. I have to finish downloading everything I took while the computer was down. Then I have to sort through them for the website.
I got my taxes done in short order. I didn’t have much to figure out from last year. Which is sort of disappointing. As publishers cut back on expenses, they cut back on freelancers first. Beginning of the year wasn’t bad but the end really was pitiful. On the plus side, Caroline had her mommy around when she needed her and our finances are fine for now. I keep applying for jobs but rarely get a call back on my resume. I tend to announce here when I get an actually interview with a company. It’s kind of depressing but then so is the job market in New York City.
It is not like I don’t have things to do. I have both creative and mundane things to fill the days. Caroline does a pretty good job of needing my time. Right now she is playing with the plastic eggs from the Easter Egg Hunt we had a couple of weeks ago. I can hide the eggs around the living room and she will run around and find them with great glee. She has two wicker baskets she puts the eggs into. There is some sort of rule as to which egg goes in which basket, but I haven’t quite sorted that out yet. As long as it makes sense to her.
I am grateful for plastic eggs and places to hide them in plain sight.
