On the Occasion of my 53rd Birthday

puppetmakerPeter and Caroline are baking me a cake. We have some nice activities planned.
Caroline gave me my birthday card this morning.
(for the VI: Across the top are the words Happy Birthday Mommy in script. She drew me on the left and her on the right. I am hugging her.)
And I got some cool presents. The 221b lithograph was what my parents got for me. The Dr. Strange legos and the Labyrinth pops are from Peter.

For those who have read this web log less than a year, I write myself a letter each year that I open on my birthday and then write one for next year. Here is the public part of the letter for this year.
Dear Kath,
Well that was a year wasn’t it. A lot of ups and downs and ups and downs.
We have learned that one can do too many conventions in a row. It is possible to go to Disneyland and DisneyWorld within a week of each other.
We learned that we are better at building puppets and costumes than we thought we were. We learned that others appreciate our efforts.
We made new friends and saw old friends.
The gym was more consistent this year and how you feel is in direct correlation to that so let’s keep that up.
You walked through the White House and saw Pandas in three zoos along with lots of other adventures.
This next year I plan to finish the novel I owe, put up a puppet website so I can sell my wares, and make some dolls which I haven’t done in a couple of years.
Be kind to yourself and allow a moment or two to breath.
Let’s get to 54 intact.
