So I managed to kill my coffee pot or leave it in a situation that I need to take it apart and clean all the sludge that has now made it unusable. I tried to make a pot of coffee and forgot to put the carafe back. This pot has a means to allow you to pour a cup while it is still brewing. The coffee grounds have apparently gotten into the part of the pot where the water is boiled thus clogging up the works. I get coffee but it takes three times as long and the results are very grainy.

However a friend was getting rid of her coffee pot system and for the price of postage I gained the ability to make more than two cups at a time. I set it up yesterday and the taste of my coffee has much improved. I can also get it to a strength that I like. Problem solved.

Puppets are coming along. Apparently I haven’t restocked my pink fleece in a long time so I find myself at a stopping point until the fabric store opens up. Or rather I have other things I can work on but I can’t make any new puppets until I get more fabric.

I could make shirts and will probably work on that this morning even if I don't have bodies to put them on.

It has been hot up here. I know it has been hot all over the country and Louisiana is under water right now. Going outside I feel like I need a machete to cut through the humidity to get anywhere. Walking to the gym is not happening due to it being hotter than my body temperature. There is supposes to be a respite later this week.

We have had a couple of brown-outs over the past couple of days. I have been resetting all the electronics and have had to reconnect a number back into the WiFi which is complicated since the company set the ID and password and we can’t change it to something logical.

Caroline is having fun down at Ariel’s. She is getting to find out first hand what life is like with an infant.

Olympics have been interesting but I can’t say that I am enamored of the coverage by NBC or some of the other ‘news’ organizations. I am glad that Michael Phelps was able to get the monkey off his back and leave breaking a record that has stood for over 2000 years. I am happy for the women’s gymnastics team and swim team. Somewhere someone has decided that everyone is a human interest story and that we need to go over everything that has happened to anyone who has been in more than one set of Olympic games. I have found myself watching something else so I can fast forward through all the parts that are NOT the actual competition.

Mets got a badly needed win yesterday but almost didn’t.

Football is starting up again with some pre-season games that don’t mean anything except to those trying to get their fantasy teams set up.

I have been enjoying the new Doctor Strange comic. They are going some places that haven’t been explored in that universe. Makes for some good reading.

Back to puppet bodies and the like.

I am grateful for the ability to craft puppets.

Back in the day, I used to videotape the Olympics so that I could fast-forward all of the stuff that didn't interest me. I stopped bothering altogether when I found myself ff'ing through hours of tape to watch ten minutes of sports. Not worth the trouble.
