Merry Christmas

My brother Sean and I would have a contest on Christmas Morning. I don’t think we ever stated the contest it just happened. We would both go to bed when told but the trick was to be the first one up after midnight to see the presents under the tree. We would leave each other a note that said, “I was here” or some such nonsense. This got to be quite a contest. My parents would pull one gift forward for each of us that we were allowed to open before they got up. It was usually something that would keep us occupied until they got up for the rest of the present opening. I remember one year Patrick got a new Lego set which kept all of us occupied until Mom and Dad got up. When we were younger the magic time was 7 AM. As we got older the time moved to 8 AM. Current time is now 9 AM for gift opening. I think as the grandkids get older, it is going to slide earlier again.
Caroline had a much better night last night. She did cough but it was apparently nothing like the night before. My mother lent us a cold air humidifier to use in the room. It seems to be helping Ariel too with her allergies. I feel a little clear too. We’ll see how Caroline is when she wakes up this morning.
So again Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it. I hope Santa give you something you really want.
I am grateful to humidifiers.
