The visit with Ariel, Anthony, and the to be born in a month or so AJ, was very nice.

On the way up I broke it into two pieces. On the way back I decided to try it in one. (edit: OK we were going to leave after lunch which would have been 1 to 2 and then we would have stopped but we left at 11 because we were trying to avoid a front that was going to bring strong rain and wind which is why I did the drive the way I did.)

The journey home was long. Not much traffic just a long drive. Thank goodness for Big Finish and Graphic Audio.

About the time we got to Allentown, I figured that we could make it home that we did after going through the city, which I hate to do. But my GPS sent me that direction and I couldn’t get it to take me another way.

Which turned out to be a good thing because traffic the way I wanted to go would have probably added another two hours to the trip.

By the time I was done, my ears were ringing so hard I had a headache.

This morning the ringing is down to a dull roar. My forearms are a little over worked from gripping the steering wheel and my neck is stiff. But I got us safely home.

I am grateful for the number of green lights I got crossing Manhattan.

You remind me of the time I drove from Philadelphia to Vermont with two friends in a rental car with GPS. It was in the early days of everybody getting GPS so we rented it with the car just to try it out.

The GPS routed us across Manhattan. We weren't familiar with the territory, because we were all from the Midwest. We didn't realize what was happening until we were stuck in traffic, trapped into going through the Holland Tunnel.

We survived... arriving in Vermont at 3 a.m. (when it should have been 9 or 10 p.m.)

It makes a great story... today... but we were really wiped out when we arrived.
