Ronnie Burkett is an amazing puppeteer. His shows are breathtaking to watch. He also is a fount of knowledge about marionettes and the history of puppetry. On his Facebook page he has a request I seem to have a lot of friends on here who are puppeteers, puppet enthusiasts, puppetry hobbyists or puppet smartypants-know-it-all-academics. So how about this: today, right now, Tuesday, you just all post a picture of something puppet related you are proud of, or a puppet that you find so gobsmackinglyfucking beautiful it makes your teeth hurt. And then on Wednesday we can all go back to inanity and sharing of angry political posts not of your own design, or GIFs of poop coming out of Trump's mouth. But let's make Tuesday a nice day of puppets. Come on. It's not that hard. copyright Ronnie Burkett 2016.
So I am going to, behind the cut because this is going to get photo heavy, show you some of the puppets I have made that I am proud of.
I am grateful that I have made so many puppets and amused so many people.

These are my signature puppets that Peter dubbed Phluzzies. I have made more of these over the years than I can count. People do keep me up on their adventures with these puppets.

My first set of Doctor Who puppets made between the time that the Doctor Who movie aired and DragonCOn that year. This set taught me so much about how to make puppet clothing and some new craft skills. Over the years I have built two more sets of them.

Neil Gaiman, Little Neil and me from DragonCon. Neil asked me if I could make a puppet of him and I did. Neil has given me a number of challenges over the years and has always encouraged me to make puppets. We became friends over a Sandman puppet I made.

Here is Little Neil and Morphy the puppet that Neil and I became friends over

Peloquin from Clive Barker’s Nightbreed. This taught me a lot about paint and puppets. I gave the puppet to Clive.

Pinhead from Hellraiser by Clive Barker. Doug Bradley informed me that this puppet was so wrong that it was right. That something so evil could look cuddly was probably scarier than any Cenobite that Clive had created. So I gave him the puppet.

This was the sketch “It’s OK to be Takei” that we did at Shoreleave. This came out of a Tennessee story where teachers were informed that they could no longer use the word gay. George decided to point out the absurdity of this by telling the teachers to replace gay with Takei so they would not get in trouble. We took the song from Avenue Q and turned it a bit on it’s head. We did it again at Dragon Con in the first puppet slam.

This was taken at Icon where I gave Paul McGann his Doctor puppet. He loved the puppet and it took us a couple of tried before he understood it was his puppet.

Charles and Erik from X-Men First Class. This set taught me the importance of getting photos before taking the puppets to a show since I sold them and these are the only photos of the completed puppets.

Lockheed from the X-Men. A lot of fun to make and figure out how to operate it. Chris Claremont though it was a hoot.

Mr. Gold and Rumplestilskin from Once Upon a Time. The real pain was finding the material to make Rumple’s skin. I went all over the fabric district and just couldn’t find anything that I really liked. Then I went to my local fabric store and with the new Halloween fabrics was this gold lizard like fabric that worked like a charm.

Sean Mcguire’s Robin Hood puppet. I took it out for a beer before sending it to him. He really like it.

Rebecca Mader and her Zelena puppet from Once Upon a Time. She adored it and again it took us a few tries to get her to understand that this puppet was for her.

Dragon Con Puppet slam we took the Billy Joel Song “For the longest time” and turned it into “For a Lord of Time”. This sketch is still fondly remember by many.

David Tennant and his Doctor Puppet which Peter gave to him.

Peter Davison who was the first Doctor Who actor I got a puppet to thanks to my friend Stephanie. He loved it and so did his children. Years later I got to meet him and ask about the puppet. He asked if I was still making puppets because I had a gift that needed to be used. I was able to assure him I was still building puppets.

John Barrowman and his Captain Jack puppet. I also made a puppet of his husband Scott that they love.

Michelle Gomez and her Missy puppet that Peter gave to her at a screening of the first episodes of the 2015 season of Doctor Who. She later tweeted how much she loved it.

The Avengers Set I built for the sketch “Get Loki” we did at Dragon Con in the puppet slam.

Nick Fury and the Antman billboard that was ant sized.

The Cad in the Hat based on a poem that Peter wrote. This was our Dragon Con puppet slam 2015 entry.
