DragonCon 2015 the prologue

puppetmakerIn which our intrepid band of adventures make it to the convention and has discovered that there are already a lot of people here.
Here is my schedule for this year if you want to find me.
Friday night workmanship contest (Head Judge)

11:30 Meet the Winners of the Workmanship contest
2:30 Caroll Spinney: Puppeteer (Yes I get to interview him just him and me and the audience)
Sunday
10:00 Am So you want to build a puppet
1:00 Costuming for Puppets
Sunday/Monday 12:00 Late Night Puppet Slam
And I have to fly back to NY with Caroline on Monday since Tuesday is her first day of 7th grade.
I will also be at Peter David’s table in Artist Alley off and on. Table #25
The Sherlock/Watson puppets will be in the Art Show until Monday AM.

We left on Monday and made a stop in Hersey Pennsylvania to go to Hersey’s Chocolate World. A good time was had by all. Now to avoid spending extra time to get there, we had to leave the house at 5 AM and only got caught in minor traffic. We even made it across Manhattan in the fastest time I think we have ever done.
We stopped in York Pennsylvania to visit the York Emporium, a really cool used bookstore, and stay at the Grace Manor B&B which we can highly recommend.
The rest of the drive was pretty normal which is exactly what you want in a drive.
We arrived in Atlanta and stay at my folk’s house for Tuesday.
Wednesday was a leisurely day for the most part. We checked into our hotel room and spent the evening getting ready for the convention.
Thursday we got our badges and I tried to give blood but my hemoglobin number was not where they needed it so no blood this year. As of Thursday, we started running into people we know. Got caught up on some things I am doing here as well.
Remember those puppets I was working on for the Art Show? I am happy to say that I got them all done. There was only the snipping of threads and one or two stitches put back in before they were ready to go.
