I have been thinking long and hard about this one and thought what the heck. I already am working on a few for other people so I would join the LJ Gifting

Credit for starting this madness goes to Tartanshell
Here are their rules for this thing
Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

OK here is my list

1) I would love for someone to give me some sort of LJ cheat sheet so I could figure out how to post pictures, links, and people’s LJ names to connect back to them. I have read the stuff that the LJ has but I am very confused about how to use it.

2) Books on Puppetry. I love books on puppetry. Kids books, adult books, education books I love them all

3) Icons for LJ or how to make them (size them) I would love some Icons from just about any thing Jim Henson did but Labyrinth is a favorite as is Dark Crystal. I also love Fraggle Rock esp. Boober. Brian Froud is my favorite artist.

4) Doll patterns. Either online and free or ones you want to get rid of. I have found Runo’s work and am looking for more sites along those lines or patterns for super deforms that can be adapted for all kinds of things.

5) Do a good deed for someone else and tell me about it. It can be something small as remembering to take out the garbage before your significant other has to. But do something nice for some else.

6) Take a half hour for yourself and do something you want to do. Then if you wish you can tell me what you did or you can just tell me that you took the time for yourself.

7) Help in setting up a website for selling and showing of puppets/dolls/masks etc. I know next to nothing about setting up website and I really could use basic information on what has worked for you (if you have such a site) and what I need to look at. I am a total novice here. Currently all I have is the blogs and my photopage on my mac account. Also what the cost is for setting something like this up and maintaining it. Like I said Total Novice

8) I like Irish music, good music to meditate to or just put on for background, I like tibetian musics and Bollywood music. Asian is good too. I am big in to Cirque but I have every album they have published so far including the Tapis Rouge.

9) Good places on line to go and do IRC chat. I have found mysticwicks but wonder if there is a way to find others.

10) All my friends’ children and loved ones back from Iraq and Afganistan. I know no one can really do anything about this one but I wish I could do something for the troops. If there is something I can do please tell me. We have a ton of comic books around here and I would love to know if there is a way I can get them to the troops to read and enjoy.
