Happy Birthday to My Father 2014 Edition

Today is my father’s birthday.
I want the world to know how much I love him.
He has always been there for me and I can’t believe that was easy at times especially during my teen-age “you don’t understand me” years.
He has always encouraged me to be the best at whatever I was doing.
I love science and math because of my father. I never thought girls couldn’t do math because my father told me that I could do math and showed me how. He encouraged our love of science and math. I am trying to give Caroline the same feelings.
My love of theater comes from my father. When I was a child I loved a picture that is in the family album of my dad on stage. When I went into theater both of my parents encourage my career. They supported me going to the Yale School of Drama. My graduation present was a Hirschfeld print of the Phantom of the Opera that hangs over my desk. My father had to convince the framer to use the color scheme my father wanted for the matte.
I love Pogo and that’s thanks to my dad.
He introduced me to the classic science fiction and fantasy authors. We read the Hobbit together. I can still remember him reading me Wind in the Willows.
He was a busy man but he always has made time for his children and grandchildren and we are richer for it.
Happy Birthday Dad. I want you to know that I love and appreciate you.
I am grateful that my Da is my Da.
