Usual rules please. Spoilers are allowed in the comments for all episodes including this one but nothing beyond.

When I heard that we were going to visit the Daleks again, I will admit to feeling a little trepidation but got to give Moffat credit, that episode stood a lot of the tropes we know so well on their heads.

Mr. Capaldi continues to impress me. Jenna Coleman has been given some hard things to play but she does it quite well. I hope we see more of Samuel Anderson because the opening bit was brilliant both in writing and acting.

The story was pretty tight and they did give it an ending that made sense given what had happened. Also they have changed the game with the Daleks to where I want to know what happens next.

Next the Robot of Sherwood which looks like we are back to the whimsy of Dr. Who.

I am grateful that the Daleks are interesting to me again.

Wow! And WOW! That’s how to make the Daleks interesting again.

And the level of snark was glorious. The quips and back-hand comments are just wonderful.

And then there is the question “Am I a good man?” He is concerned about who he is and he feels lost.

This is the first Doctor who is guilt free from what happened to Gallifrey since the war and it is almost like with the guilt gone, he doesn’t know what to do with himself.

Even the Fantastic Voyage got a shout out. They were admitting where they were getting their source material from with not a bit of guile.

And the relationship between the Doctor and Clara is getting more and more interesting for all the right reasons.

I really enjoyed the Doctor fighting with himself about the Dalek and Clara being his carer (She cares so I don’t have to). She had become his conscious but she is not sure if that is what she wants to be.

I do want to see more of Rusty.

Over all high marks all the way around.
