The Longest I have been in the same house...

Is this one I am in right now.

I just did the math and I have surpassed the number of years I spent in my parents’ current house over the years.

This is the longest I have been stationary ever.

I had my vagabond years of various roommates and living conditions.

I am settled now. I don’t have an itch to move onto something or somewhere else.
I have put down roots in my community.

There was a time that I thought that I would never have a permanent home other than my parents.

But I have a home, a family, and pets. All those were things that were ephemeral to me over 15 years ago (going on 16 in March).

Kind of a nice feeling.

Nothing really profound just something I have been thinking about.

Now I am thinking about cleaning the house that I have lived the longest in and shall do so.

I am grateful for homes.

I'm getting really close to wanting this. Always thought I'd be the type of person ready to move on after a few years, but I'm longing for permanence now.

It boggled my brain when I reached that point. It also surprised me, because I had not expected nor intended to stay here, in this place, for my whole life.
