Crafty Thursday cause I was busy Tuesday

About two weeks ago I went to Caroline’s class room to make a simple puppet with her class. It was a variation on a puppet I learned to make many years ago. The kids had a lot of fun making the puppet and playing with the puppet. Last week I went to the Nutcracker with Caroline’s class and talked to a number of the parents about the puppet that their kids made. I was amazed at what the parents were telling me about how much the kids enjoyed making the puppet and that a number of them went home and made more puppets based on the design that I taught them.
 
I was talking to someone about the dolls I make and told them that I learned much of what I know from taking classes from Wendy Froud. I had my iPad with me and access to WiFi so I was able to show her some of Wendy’s work which she loved. So then I told her about the gallery show of the Frouds’ art work which she is going to visit when she goes into the city next as I am. I told her that Toby Froud was the baby in the movie Labyrinth. She couldn’t believe that the little baby in that film is all grown up and married even though I have pictures of Toby from about a year ago.
 
I really should make a list of the things I want to create and see what I can get done on it. I need to finish the tree topper I am making for a friend and a couple of Artist Trading Dolls within the next week.
 
I am grateful for materials that I can find.
