I am watching a lot of the olympics, but I am recording everything on a DVR and then starting to watch 1-2hrs after they start their coverage. This lets me forward not only commercials, but the replays and human interest stories too. I watched last night's 3.5 hour block in just under 2 hours. If it's an option for you, I find it useful.
