I think a lot of critics forget that not every piece of theatre is high brow. They forget that fantasy illustration is valid work. They forget that, love it or hate it, music is musig no matter what it is.
Of COURSE a Little Mermaid disney themed musical is going to be trite. but it;'s not for Mr Bow-tie critic, it's for the kids and people who are still big kids :D
