Next! Or a very busy week for us....again
Dec. 9th, 2018 09:27 amThis week does not seem to be slowing down at all.
Last week we saw Spider-man into the Spider-verse (stay all the way through past the credits for our favorite scene), celebrated Caroline’s birthday, had Caroline’s birthday party, and went into the city for a friend’s birthday tea. There was not a day that didn’t have something to do.
This week we have a number of activities including Peter going to the Aquaman premiere in LA along with some other business out there, I have an invite to a Christmas party which is always an interesting party, Peter comes back from LA and goes to Marvel in NYC. Caroline has dental appointments to sort out her teeth. I have a follow-up with my cardiologist about things that happened earlier this year. All in all another jam-packed week.
Going into the city yesterday was ‘interesting’ because Santa Con was going on where people dress up in Santa or Christmas themed outfits and do a pub/bar crawl to the point that they can only crawl. Many imbibe before the official start on their way in on the train. The LIRR forbid open containers of alcohol on the trains starting at 7 pm on Friday and going through Noon today. No one was paying attention other than hiding their beverages when the conductors came though. People had suitcases of beer in trash bags. The floor was sticky from all the split drinks. It was noisy and raucous going in and a little less so as people passed out on the way back.
Caroline was smart. On the way in she slept to make up for her late night the night before at her sleep-over birthday party. On the way back she put on her noise cancelling headphones and listened to music. She really enjoyed her party as did her friends.
I was glad we went into the city as the tea party was full of both amazing baked goods and people. I got to catch up with friends before the second round of holidays were upon us. A number of them went to see Michelle Obama the other day and were telling us about the event which was apparently life changing. We talked about baking and fandom and a whole slew of topics. We laughed a lot and we spend time with each other just enjoying the company of friends.
Today is a bit of a pause before we start up again. There are things that need to be done like food shopping and laundry including my winter jacket that got beer spilled on it on the train. There are things we want to do like watch Supergirl and the season ender of Doctor Who (Yes, I know I am behind on the New Who Review and will catch up). I want to sort out my case of sculpting tools that got dumped into a box willy nilly and I am hoping I am not missing a couple of my favorites. We might go see the Green Book but that’s still a little in the air at this point.
I am grateful for cats to inform you when they want to be petted and where.
