We are on our yearly pilgrimage to DragonCon. Our schedules are on the app and in the book. Peter has a table in artist alley or whatever they are calling it this year. I will be head judge on the Friday night workmanship contest. I also have a diverse set of panels including moderating the Sesame Street panel with a number of the humans who live in that neighborhood and Big Bird.
However today is my brother Sean’s birthday so it’s all about him.
Sean is, as I have stated before, my candidate for “Most likely to survive the Zombie Apocalypse.” He’s a blacksmith. He learned survival skills in Boy Scouts that he has since improved upon. He has decent weapons skills and self-defense abilities. He’s over 6 feet tall so his head is above many zombies reach. If we got hit with an electro-magnetic pulse and all wi-fi was wiped out along with the electrical grid, he would be just fine.
Sean is my go to mechanical/electronic/prop guy when I need to trick out a puppet. He thinks fast on his feet and can come up with a number of possible solutions. I have to say that ability is a family trait that Caroline is showing a great mastery of.
Sean is part of the longest tag game in the history of the game. You think the movie Tag was implausible? Nope, that sort of thing can happen and I have watched it for over 20 years. I don’t know who is currently tagged in that game but I do know it is still on going.
He is a solid friend. He has done things for people that they didn’t even know he was behind it. He is that friend you can call on moving day and he will show up with his truck and help. Those who know him, know we can count on him when the chips are down.
He has interesting friends. It can be said that if you want to know the quality of a man, look at the people he gathers around him. Sean’s friends are a lot like him. Solid people who care about each other. People who try to fake this are shown the door.
I love my younger brother (I use to call him my little brother until he became taller than me. He declared that he was now my younger brother rather than my little brother in no uncertain terms.) I think he is a fine man with a big heart.
Happy Birthday Sean.
See you at DragonCon.
love,
Your older Sister,
Kath
I am grateful that Sean is my kin.
