President's Day 2018
Feb. 19th, 2018 09:58 amI learned something today.
President’s day use to be called George Washington Day and was celebrated on February 22nd which is the day of Washington’s birth. Then in 1971 under the Uniform Monday Holiday act which gave federal workers 3 day weekends rather than specific calendar days off, it moved to Monday in celebration of both Lincoln (February 12th) and Washington’s birthdays. It was still called Washington’s Birthday but slid to President’s Day over the years.
Caroline has her winter break this week so she is home enjoying being home rather than traveling or in school.
We are in the ‘can I get it done’ part of our lives. I have several deadlines that some are hard deadlines and other soft deadlines. So I am off to being the long list of THINGS THAT MUST BE DONE! with breaks to spend time with my daughter.
I am grateful that Caroline had some time to regroup.
