puppetmaker: (Secret of Sherlock Holmes)
Yesterday I was at bowling. I had two spares and a strike. I went up to the line and dropped my ball into the gutter because my hand had a sudden spasm and I lost my grip. I sat down and put my hands together and realized that it was not going to be my best night bowling. One of my teammates saw my shaking hands and asked if I was OK. I had to explain essential tremors and what they are yet again and said I’ll be fine but my average is going to take a hit.

I can usually tell what kind of day I am going to have in terms of physical coordination pretty much after I get up. It is not always accurate but gives me a baseline as to what is going to work and what is not.

Fine work is not happening on the days where I am shaking like a leaf. Typing can be difficult as well but I have an easier time with the typing than I do with some needle work. However the number of typos I create is amazing. Some day I am going to wear out my back button on this.

I have the materials for a couple of projects. I have some close to but not quite fabric for two projects where I am going to be able to create a version of a coat or dress but it is not quite what I wanted. A perfect example of this was Sherlock’s Belstaff coat. I searched high and low for a fabric that would work for a puppet sized coat. I ended up making a temp coat. Then Caroline and I went into Mood where they had a table of fabric that was left over from a Michael Kors collection and there was the perfect fabric for the coat. I got it cheap as a remnant and it works for the puppet perfectly.

I have to draft all the patterns for the clothing for my puppets. After I finish a pattern I try to keep it together but the fey being what they are, pieces will go missing for what every reason. And then there are the times that the bag o’ patterns vanishes from the face of the earth. I could recreate it but it would take a lot of whiles.

And there is just life. Things that must be done and need to be done before the creative can happen. Food must be bought and cooked. Pets need to be taken care of. Family needs to be taken care of. Life happens.

March, according to the fabric and craft stores, is National Craft Month and with that come the appropriate coupons and the like. So I will be seeing how much I can craft in a month. I figure a picture a day on my tumblr will be my benchmark. My general tumblr is Puppetmaker40 and off of that is my puppet making tumblr which is Puppetmaker52 . I think I am going to put the photos on 52 and reblog it to 40. And yes there is a rhyme and reason to both designations.

So feel free to follow along.

I am grateful for things to get through the obstacles both physical and mental.
