Hello from St. Augustine

I am on vacation, if you care to leave a message please do so at the beep.

No I am really am on vacation. I didn’t bring art projects to work on. I did bring my sketch book and notebooks to sort out how I am going to tackle things on the other end.

St. Augustine is a touchstone for me. My family has been coming here for more than 40 years for one week to spend on a beach. I have a lot of memories about going to the Beach and I am glad I can share this with Caroline who was here last year on her own.

This year schedules worked out so I could participate again in the Beach Week. And schedules worked for everyone else on this side of the family so we are all down here. This will be the most concentrated time I have spent with my brothers and sister all together in probably about 25 years.

Caroline is having a blast. She had a cousin her own age and a toddler cousin to play with as well. The two girls have spent the day talking and playing together or just reading Foxtrot compilations on the same couch. Right now they are playing in the ocean with my sister-in-law.

I am taking the day to clear my brain. Just working on getting the roar down to white noise. Travel is done for a while so I can just be which I haven't done in a while.

Peter is working on various projects he needs to write. This week gives him the house to himself for the first time in a rather long time. All he has to worry about is the cats and himself.

And we had one heck of the thunderstorm blow up and take over while I have been typing this with lighting so I am going to post and run.

I am grateful for vacation in all its myriad forms.
