I will never forget the Ides of March for the very simple reason of a practical joke a bunch of History seniors played on our senior seminar teacher. This teacher was well known for using ALL the chalkboards in his lectures. So we would write in rather big letters BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH on one of the boards that was behind one of the siding chalkboards at the various classes he taught. Then on March 15th, we dressed up in bed sheets as togas, made masks out of paper plates and daggers made out of paper plates. We ran into his freshman history class “stabbed” him while screaming death to tyrants and various lines from Julius Caesar by Shakespeare and then we ran out. He knew who did it and at the next senior seminar we got an earful about our stupid stunt which had totally interrupted his class and a grudging congratulations for pulling it off.

This day finds Peter going back into the city for business. Caroline will be off to school to learn. And I am dealing with cat boxes and other bits of housework that need to be done along with possibility some yard work if the weather stays nice.

(my mother pointed out that my time sense is kinda screwed up)

I am grateful for all I can get done in a quiet house before it gets back its people.
